A popular East Durham pub and restaurant has announced its Easter and summer programme of events.
The Royal George in Old Shotton will kick off its programme of themed lunches, events and fundraising activities with a 1920s Murder Mystery night tomorrow night (Friday).
This will then be followed by a Psychic Night with Peter Crawford on Monday, March 30th.
Easter Sunday will be celebrated with a Sunday lunch, and will include an Easter egg hunt for the little ones.
The pub’s management team is hoping that a new outdoor area, which is currently under construction and includes artificial grass, decking, new seating , heated lamps and doggy blankets, will be finished in time for the long Bank Holiday weekend.
Other events include a Race Night on Friday, April 24th, in aid of the Lee Black Foundation, and a Summer Party on Sunday, May 3rd.
Kirsty Kitson, Manager of The Royal George, said: “We love putting on events that bring the community together, and if we can support charities in the process that’s even better, especially ones that are local.
“With the long four-day Easter weekend coming up, we’re really hoping our outdoor area will be ready, as we know that will be so popular with our customers. And if it is, we’ll be using that for our Easter egg hunt, which is something fun for our younger visitors to enjoy.”
