Dec 11, 2024 | Business

Businesses across East Durham are being encouraged to give their support to an annual careers fair aimed at inspiring students to pursue careers in a range of sectors.

Seaham High School is hosting its annual careers event for over 1100 pupils from age 11-16 to show students about the range of opportunities available with employers in the area.

The event is on Monday, January 20.

The school is inviting businesses, further and higher education providers and charitable organisations who are interested in taking part to get in touch and register their attendance.

The event will run throughout the school day (from 08:30-15:00 pm) and there is the option for organisations to stay on for the community session which runs until 17:30pm.

Caroline Rochester is registered careers co-ordinated at Seaham High School. She said: “The aim is for students to learn about the diverse opportunities available, ask questions about post-16 options in education and the world of work, including potential apprenticeship recruitment opportunities for school leavers.

“Employers who are available to stay on for our community session can be provided with a space to promote their business with adults and members of the community. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Free on-site car parking is also available.

“We would love you to be part of our biggest event of the year.”

To sign up to attend, please email rck@seahamhighschool.com or call 0191 5161600.
