A popular running club is supporting its local community with the planting of over 100 trees.
Members of Run Peterlee and their families joined together to plant over 100 trees along with Natural England at Castle Eden Nature Reserve in Peterlee.
Andrew Rogers was one of the people who took part. He said: “There was a great turn out and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time planting oak trees, all propagated from acorns collected by volunteers from within the dene.
“These oak trees will live to between 600 and 1000 years! It will be great watching them grow as we pass “Run Peterlee Woods” on our club runs.
“We are committed to supporting our local community so if anyone has any suggestions of what else we can be doing please let us know.”
