A fast-growing North East cleaning company has been chosen as the delivery partner for an Italian-based global brand as it expands into the UK market for the very first time.
AAA Cleaning Solutions Ltd, which is a new division of family-owned AAA Caring Caretaker, will join forces with REair as it launches its innovative photocatalysis product across the country.
The partnership was officially unveiled by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of County Durham, Mrs Sue Snowdon, to an event held jointly between AAA and REair at UMi’s headquarters at Belmont Business Park in Durham.
The clean-tech company, which is headquartered in Milan and also has a facility in Los Angeles in the United States, has been exploring its expansion into the UK market for a number of months.
Its products, which are widely used across Europe, are water-based and environmentally friendly and can be applied to any type of surface, but particularly walls and windows. There are two types of coatings, one for internal use and one for the external windows and cladding on buildings.
It is transparent in appearance and long lasting and helps prevent damp, reduce the spread of pollutants and destroy microorganisms such as viruses and bacteria that cause lung and respiratory diseases.
Earlier this year the team was introduced to AAA Caring Caretaker Managing Director Alison Stephenson and after several meetings signed a partnership which has seen AAA Cleaning Solutions officially launched and appointed as the inaugural partner for the roll out.
The venture will initially support the creation of one new job and two work experience placements, with further employment created as the technology is taken to market.
Alison Stephenson said: “After months of negotiations, we are delighted to have been chosen as REair’s inaugural UK partner for the roll out of their photocatalysis products.
“This is a significant contract win for us and has led to the creation of a new company, AAA Cleaning Solutions, which will be responsible for taking the REair product to market.
“Although we’re being conservative with recruitment while we’re in the development stages, we do envisage that as the product is rolled out several new jobs will be created.
“It’s been a huge year for AAA, which has seen us relocate our business to new flagship headquarters in Bowburn, and agreeing this partnership is a fantastic way to round off 2023.”
Francesco Sansone, Strategic Business Development manager at REair (on behalf of Raffaella Moro, CEO and founder) who was in attendance at the launch, said: “The importance of this partnership to REair cannot be underestimated.
“Companies need to make their contributions to a healthier environment as currently more than 400,000 people die per year in Europe from respiratory disease.
“Indoor air quality must be better as these environments are eight times more polluted than outdoor environments.
“We need to think about our children and we must act now.”
Fellow Gian Luca Guerrini, Research and Innovation Manager at REair who also spoke at the event, added: “We are delighted to be moving into the UK market with our photocatalysis products, and are confident that in AAA, we have appointed a company that shares our ethos and beliefs in creating a cleaner, healthier environment.
“Our products have a proven track record in helping prevent things like damp and the build up of harmful bacteria before they become a problem. This is much better than reacting when they are found within a property or building, by which time it could be too late.”
His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of County Durham, Mrs Sue Snowdon, said at the unveiling: “This venture marks not just a partnership, but a collaboration and shared vision, leading to immense growth opportunities.
“It will enable both companies to expand their footprint, strengthen their offerings and serve customers better.
“The value of strong partnerships cannot be overstated. Together they will accomplish more, innovate better and grow faster.”
AAA Cleaning Solutions will be responsible for taking the REair products to market while the delivery work will be sub-contracted to AAA Caring Caretaker.
As part of the partnership with REair, AAA will initially test-treat six social housing properties around the region over a six-month period, enabling Alison and the team to build up data which can be used to market the product.
