Partners and residents support Murton Parish Council litter pick

Murton Parish Council have been leading an initiative in partnership with Dalton Park and Morrisons, and with the support of the Dancing Betty and Durham County Council, so that Murton can call itself a litter free community.

On Saturday, March 19, 2022, the council led a litter pick in the village with nearly 60 people in attendance, including parish councillors, parish council staff and the local PCSO, who between them collected 54 bags of litter

A competition was held last year with the local schools, St Josephs and Ribbon Academy, for their children to design posters for the campaign.  Winners were chosen and these designs have now been made into posters and stickers that have already been displayed throughout Dalton Park and are due to be installed throughout the village
