Festive fun for all the family at Prince Bishop’s Place

Dec 14, 2021 | Leisure & Lifestyle

Prince Bishops Place is full of festive cheer this season with visits to Father Christmas, a children’s Christmas trail and a magical pedal powered tree!

Plus the centre is raising funds for Treetops Children’s Ward at the University Hospital of North Durham. Customers will have the opportunity of making a donation when enjoying the festivities at the centre.

Prince Bishops Place’s brand-new installation, a pedal powered Christmas tree, now stands in Bishops Quarter until Thursday 30th December! Customers are invited to have a go on the pedals to light up the tree and start the Christmas music!

Little shoppers can visit Father Christmas in his Lodge and receive a special gift until Friday 24th December. The grotto is currently open Friday’s and Saturday’s 10am-4pm and Sunday’s 11am-4pm. From Friday 17th December the grotto will be open every week day 10am-4pm.  A minimum donation of £2 per children will be required to see Father Christmas with 100% of the profits going to The Treetops Children’s Ward at the University Hospital of North Durham.

Families can also have a go at the festive crafts on offer in the Christmas Craft Cabin. This is located opposite Elvet & Bailey’s Handmade Christmas Shop and is open the same hours as the Christmas grotto.

Whilst at the centre, families can pick up a FREE festive trail sheet from The Christmas Craft Hub and The Elvet & Bailey Handmade Christmas Shop. Children will be challenged to find the letters on the eleven Christmas figures hidden around Prince Bishops Place and arrange them to discover the mystery phrase! Families can return their sheet to receive a treat!

With the kids entertained, Prince Bishops Place is the perfect place to shop for festive gifts and fashion. Customers will be spoilt for choice with the mix of all the favourite high street brands and unique independent stores, you can’t find anywhere else.

Set in the heart of Durham and with convenient city centre parking, Prince Bishops Place is the place for Christmas!

Centre Manager, Richard Toynbee said: “We’re delighted to invite customers to celebrate Christmas with us this year! We wanted to provide something different with our pedal powered tree and are excited to see this in action! We encourage customers to shop local this Christmas and support our independent brands.”
