Housebuilder supports Hartlepool and East Durham Mind with £1,000 donation

Housebuilder Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes North East is continuing to support charities and organisations in the areas in which it builds with its monthly Community Fund initiative.

This month, the housebuilder is supporting Hartlepool and East Durham Mind, an organisation that provides mental health and wellbeing support for anyone who needs help near to its Elwick Gardens development in Hartlepool.

The £1,000 Community Fund donation comes after reports from the Hartlepool Government stated that the estimated prevalence of mental health disorders including anxiety and depression, for those aged 16 and over in Hartlepool, was a staggering 19.3%. Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes’ are keen to support Hartlepool and East Durham Mind in breaking down the stigma around mental health within the community.

Iain Caldwell, CEO of Hartlepool and East Durham Mind, said: “We are extremely grateful to Barratt Developments for their generous donation. Covid-19 has had a large impact on our local community, and as more individuals are reaching out for support, it is crucial that we have the resources in place to help those that need it. This donation will make a large difference in ensuring that our support and services are accessible throughout Hartlepool and East Durham.”
