Logistic solutions business, NFS 360 Connect, have made significant savings on their yearly bills and reduced their carbon emissions by 75 tonnes.
That’s thanks to the support of the BEEP team, who have been working NFS 360 Connect, a logistics solutions business based in Peterlee. They have over 40 years’ experience in helping hundreds of customers by developing solutions and innovations optimising their supply chains.
They have a 250,000sq ft (square foot) state of the art internal warehouse. However, the lighting used was not energy efficient. It cost the business thousands to light up 24/7 and did not give adequate light. Looking for energy efficient and sustainable solutions, company Director Heidi Rochester, contacted BEEP.
A tailored BEEP energy audit was carried out and identified that changing the current lighting system and incorporating motion sensors, which would allow them to automatically switch off when the area is unoccupied, would be a great solution to their problem.
Along with the audit, NFS 360 Connect also met the eligibility criteria for funding support from BEEP. It took around a week to complete the work replacing all fuel thirsty lighting with LEDs illuminating the warehouse where and when needed saving the business energy and money. It has been estimated that this work alone will reduce their carbon emissions by 75T and save thousands on their yearly energy bills.
