Seaham Hall Hotel is increasing its presence in the community by announcing a new partnership to support Peterlee-based charity East Durham Trust.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and the national lockdown last year, the five-star hotel has been committed to doing its bit to help individuals and families affected most severely.
From initially preparing 500 meals each week for the NHS to supporting October half terms with 100 free school meals per day, and most recently delivering 1,218 festive cream teas to 609 care home residents and staff across all of Ascot’s six care homes in the North East, the team at Seaham Hall Hotel has been doing everything it can to support its local community.
Continuing that support into 2021, the hotel has confirmed it is partnering up with East Durham Trust on several initiatives, including:
- Providing a regular supply of essential store cupboard and household supplies for food banks
- Running volunteer schemes to support the trust by organising and delivering donations to various local areas
- Hosting holistic wellbeing workshops during the recovery phase of Covid-19
Ross Grieve, Managing Director of Seaham Hall Hotel, said: “I’m delighted that we’re able to offer our support to the wonderful East Durham Trust charity.
“The charity, based in Peterlee, County Durham, aims to tackle poverty and deprivation in the former mining communities of East Durham and with our help they can provide even more assistance to those people in need.
“It’s more important than ever that in this third national lockdown facilities and organisations like Seaham Hall do everything they can to help their communities – we’re all in this together and by helping each other we will get through it.”
Lindsey Wood, Deputy Manager at East Durham Trust, said: “The first quarter of the year is always tough for families anyway, but even more so in the current climate.
“This partnership with Seaham Hall Hotel will enable us to support even more people in our communities, providing them with much-needed food supplies and given them access to holistic workshops which will boost their mental health and wellbeing, which as we know is so important during these incredibly difficult times.”
