Business Review, LG Therapy
Review by East Durham News editor Leanne Fawcett (it can also be found in issue two of East Durham Business magazine).
The past few weeks have been particularly stressful and physically draining, so to say my body was ready for a bit of rest and relaxation would be somewhat of an understatement.
When I was given the chance to go for an hour-long full body massage at LG Therapy, the business set up by Lesley Garside five years ago, it seemed to be just what the doctored ordered.
I have been for treatments with Lesley in the past, however, never a full body so I was interested to see how this would compare.
So, after a busy day in the office, which included planning for a client launch event, I headed to LG’s office and pamper rooms located within Seaton Holme in Easington Village.
Once there, I was taken into a tranquil room with mellow lighting, fragranced candles burning and the sounds of waves crashing and birds singing.
It did the trick and I was immediately feeling relaxed – the stresses of the day were subsiding.
In the hands of masseuse Rachel, the first part of my treatment focussed on my arms, hands, legs and feet. Using soothing oils from the Temple Spa range, she gently worked her way around my very tired limbs. It felt so nice – I was certainly in need of it.
I have to say between Rachel’s technique and the peaceful surroundings, there were times when I was ready to drift of – she reassured me that if I wanted to I certainly wouldn’t be the first.
After the first stage of my treatment, she then turned her attention to my back and that’s where the fun started.
As I suspected my back, and particularly my shoulder area, was a breeding ground for knots and my goodness, wasn’t it painful as she tried to relieve my muscles of them. No pain no gain right!
And there was gain. After an hour, my back felt looser and the aches and pains I’d been experiencing had eased.
When my time was up, the biggest challenge was getting myself off the bed, dressed and ready for the drive home.
Perhaps next time I shouldn’t leave it as long.
