Peterlee pub The Five Quarter will get into the festive spirit this December by hosting a carol concert to raise money for St Cuthbert’s Church.

Duty manager Sara Malcolm has teamed up with vicar Elaine Jones to encourage people to support the church, which is located across the road from the popular Wetherspoon’s pub.

The carol concert is taking place on Wednesday, December 18, at 2pm and will also include mulled cider and minced pies.

Sara Malcolm said: “We are a community pub and like to hold events which will be popular with people in the area, but also enable us to do our bit by fundraising for good causes.

“Christmas is such a lovely time of year when people are in a generous mood, so what better way to get festive than hosting a carol concert with milled wine and mince pies, whilst also supporting the church.”

The carol concert is free to attend, with donations made on a voluntary basis to support the fundraising efforts.
