Hundreds of people turned out to see a dragon on the loose at a Peterlee shopping centre.
The giant dragon was on the prowl at Castle Dene Shopping Centre as part of the town’s Easter celebrations and the mythical creature attracted quite the crowd.
Visitors to Castle Dene Shopping Centre had the chance to meet a 9ft dragon as part of a unique Easter event, which came hot on the heels of the first episode being aired of the series everyone is talking about, Game of Thrones.
A dragon princess was on hand to help visitors get the most from their experience and other activities on offer included a dragon egg hunt and craft station.
Suzanne Chaney, centre manager at Castle Dene, said: “We could not have asked for a better crowd at this year’s Easter event, which aimed to offer something new and exciting for our shoppers.
“Having a roaming dragon in the town is a first for Peterlee and I am delighted that it was able to result in such fantastic footfall for our traders.”
The event was completely free to attend as part of the centre’s dedicated Kids Club. Members benefit from being the first to know about free family events at the centre via one monthly email and anyone that signs up receives a free goodie bag.
