A North East training and apprenticeships provider has expanded its portfolio after taking on a new key member of staff.
Profound Services, based on Peterlee Business Park, has added IT and Social Media apprenticeships to its wide range of training and employment services.
The training provider now offers nationally recognised qualifications for individuals who wish to pursue a career in the information technology or social media sector. These apprenticeship programmes have been designed for people who want to earn while they learn, whilst gaining the skills, knowledge and experience that contemporary employers desire.
New apprenticeships include IT User Skills, Web & Telecoms and Social Media for Business.
The expansion of Profound’s portfolio was announced on the back of the appointment of the company’s new IT boss. Ian Murphy was appointed as IT Coordinator in May.
Ian said: “The decision is part of the company’s larger strategic plan that aims to offer a flexible curriculum that is responsive to the skills needs of learners and businesses in the local community.”
Lynsey Carragher, Curriculum Developer at Profound Services, spoke about the new apprenticeships and said: “This will be a great addition to our portfolio of qualifications and will enrich our Curriculum offer. By being responsive to Labour Market Information we are providing learners and employers with more options.
“Learners will develop an understanding of using their communication and creative writing skills to engage with their clients online and in person. An Apprenticeship in the IT or Social Media sector will help to prepare our learners for promising future careers in the modern world of work.”
Jonathan Ward, Learner Engagement Team Leader, commented on the benefits of the Level 3 Social Media Apprenticeship and said: “Effective use of social media is now an established marketing tool, and could help businesses thrive. These apprenticeships will help learners understand the impact of social media on business and help businesses to utilize modern techniques and tools in marketing campaigns.”
