East Durham College is excited to offer a new and exciting range of professional and accredited online courses to local employers and members of the wider community, thanks to a new partnership with one of the UK’s leading edtech companies, e-Careers Limited.

With over 700 courses available through its online platform, e-Careers has successfully educated nearly 325,000 individuals over the past five years alone, with the most popular courses being in business development, accountancy and project management.

Through this new partnership, the college hopes to increase its engagement with both local employers and adult learners by providing an enhanced course offering across a wide range of industry sectors.

Principal of East Durham College and Lead Ofsted Inspector, Suzanne Duncan, confirmed: “East Durham College educates and supports thousands of students per year – from school leavers to existing professionals undergoing additional training and development.

“In forming this new partnership with e-Careers we are embracing the use of modern technology for education, but we have also significantly expanded our digital course offering, providing accessible and affordable e-learning opportunities, which cover a vast range of subject matters and industry sectors.

“In particular, I am hopeful that employers find these opportunities useful in training their workforce, especially as such training and development can be completed online from the comfort of the office!”

Examples of the new online and accredited courses offered by East Durham College include Prince2 Project Management, Accountancy and Book Keeping and I.T courses certified by Microsoft and Cisco – with many e-learning opportunities also suitable for young professionals looking to aid their continued professional development or to even start their own business.

Business Development Director for e-Careers, Jonathan Ward, said: “e-Careers is extremely excited about our new partnership with East Durham College, and the e-learning opportunities that are now available to local students and businesses as a result.

“As our only partner within the North East region, we hope the expansion of the college’s online course offering will really engage new members across the county either looking to improve their existing career or to start something new entirely. Whether a business supporting employees or young students, there really will be an e-learning course for everyone.”
