A profound new role for Peterlee IT man Ian

A North East based training and apprenticeship specialist has appointed a new IT Coordinator as part of an ongoing strategy to broaden its learning portfolio.

Profound Services, based on Bracken Hill Business Park in Peterlee, has announced the appointment of Ian Murphy, who will help the company to deliver a range of technology-based apprenticeships.

Since it was founded in 2006, Profound has rapidly expanded its headcount and the range of services it delivers. Following the company’s decision to widen its offering even further, Ian was appointed to lead and develop the firm’s new IT Apprenticeship department.

Prior to joining Profound, Ian spent four years as a technical trainer working for recruitment and training organisations. He has experience in apprenticeships, curriculum development, program management and creating innovative classroom solutions.

Commenting on his new role, Ian said: “I’ve joined the company at an exciting time of expansion and development, and am looking forward to being part of the journey.

“My experience in delivering technical ICT training will be highly valuable in the development of IT, software, web, telecoms and social media based apprenticeships at Profound.”

Ian is now looking to connect with local businesses that are interested in finding out more about IT apprenticeships, whilst his new employer is working with the Skills Funding Agency to actively promote an under-utilised fund that has been allocated to the area. Firms in the area can access the funding to help train existing staff or recruit new apprentices.
