East Durham College’s Houghall campus is set to host its final major careers open day ahead of the start of the new academic year in September.
The open day will take place on Saturday 16th April between 1pm-4pm, at the Durham-based college and will give potential students and parents the opportunity to come and meet staff and view facilities at the area’s leading land based college.
Teaching staff from all course areas will be able to talk you through the different course options for subjects such as animal care, floristry, horticulture, arboriculture, agriculture, equine studies, countryside management and vet nursing.
Visitors will also be able to get more information on the campus’s £12 million redevelopment which is currently ongoing and set to be completed ahead of the new academic year in September.
Student services staff will also be on hand to talk through financial, travel and learning support, along with expert careers advice.
East Durham College principal, Suzanne Duncan, believes this is the best opportunity to get advice directly from lecturers and course leaders ahead of Houghall course enrolment in the summer.
Suzanne said: “All departments from our Houghall campus will be represented at this important open day, so it will be a fantastic opportunity for you to get advice on courses direct from the people who will be teaching you next year.
“You can also come along and hear about our brand new state-of-the-art facilities that will be ready ahead of the new academic year starting at the Houghall campus in September 2016.”
